Gloria Mejia, affectionately known as “Gigi,” passed away surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Florence and raised in Casa Grande, she built a life rooted in compassion, dedication, and a deep commitment to those around her.
Gloria earned her Associate of Arts degree and fulfilled her passion as a preschool teacher, a role she truly treasured. She had a natural connection with children and lovingly referred to her students as her “kiddos.” Her patience, kindness, and gentle spirit made a lasting difference in the lives of the many children she taught.
Family meant everything to Gloria. She found her greatest happiness in being with her loved ones, especially while cheering on her children at their sporting events. She also enjoyed shopping and spending time at the casino—simple pleasures that brought her joy and relaxation.
She is survived by her loving children: Leanna Huerta, Annalisa Cordova, Joseph Cordova, Chazz Cordova, Crystal Cordova, and Diamond Cordova. Gloria was also a proud grandmother to 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, each of whom she cherished deeply. She is further survived by her siblings, Adam Mejia and Susie Mejia.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Leona Mejia; her mother, Leticia; her sister, Sheila Mejia; and her brother, Noe Jose Junior Mejia.
Gloria will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered for her warm heart, vibrant spirit, and unwavering love for her family and her students.
Services for Gloria Mejia will be held on April 30 at Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church in Casa Grande. A rosary will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by a eulogy, with Mass beginning at 10:00 a.m.
