ELOY - Hubert Eugene Harris, 85, died on Oct. 3, 2017, in Eloy.Mr. Harris was born on Jan. 9, 1932, in Summit, Oklahoma, to Emmit and Maggie (Edwards) Harris. He was a Korean War veteran and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.He enjoyed raising livestock and spending time on his farm. He was community oriented and a founding member of Eloy Division for Self and Community Improvement.Survivors include five daughters, Gayle Douglas, Donna Shelton, Anna Briggs, Maggie Harris and Fansy Calvin; three sons, RC Byrd, Donald Harris and James Byrd; a sister, Adeline Golden; 24 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; a son, Martin Hill; two sisters, Alice Caulton and Irene Rowland; and a brother, James C. Harris.Celebration of life at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13, at Fountains of Living Water Church in Casa Grande, with Pastor Rick Strong officiating.J.
