KOHATK VILLAGE - Irene Cecilia Parker, 81, died on Oct. 12, 2016, at Oasis Pavilion Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Casa Grande.Mrs. Parker was born on Dec. 2, 1934, in Kohatk and was a daughter of Alexander and Anastasa "Annie" Johnson. She was a homemaker and loved to dance, play bingo and listen to chicken scratch music, and she adored Mojo. She also enjoyed traveling to Europe and visiting Athens as well as San Francisco.She met her husband while attending Sherman Indian Institute in Riverside, California. When she was younger, she excelled at basketball and being on the drill team as a majorette and studied drama, and she enjoyed going to the beach.Survivors include two daughters, Judy Parker of Maricopa and Patricia Parker-Rock of Kohatk; two sons, Ronald L. Parker of Los Angeles and Anthony P. Parker of Tucson; three sisters, Hazel Gonzalez and Lucy Madrid of Casa Grande and Grace Johnson of Kohatk; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Cody Parker; a sister, Bessie; and three brothers, Fred, Lee and Edison.The wake and all-night service will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Parker home.
