ELOY - Ismael R. "Choclo" Beltran Sr., 86, of Eloy died on Aug. 21, 2015, at Banner-University Medical Center in Phoenix. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Friday at St. Helen of the Cross Catholic Church, with rosary recited at 7. Funeral Mass will be celebrated there at 9 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Eloy Memorial Park. Mr. Beltran was born on Aug. 12, 1929, in El Paso, Texas. He was a railroad worker before retirement and also worked for the Toltec Elementary School District. He enjoyed having family gatherings and was a big Diamondbacks fan. He enjoyed taking care of his garden and was a member of St. Helen’s Church.Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Maria Valenzuela Beltran; three daughters, Irma Beltran and Soila Gomez and Elida Johnson of Eloy; four sons, Ruben, Frankie and Jose Beltran, all of Casa Grande, and Ismael Beltran Jr. of Eloy; his stepmother, Tiburcia Beltran of Tularosa, New Mexico; four sisters, Ines Carrillo and Pauline Garcia of Tularosa, Kika Trujillo of Las Cruces, New Mexico, and Candy Beltran Duran of Mescalero, New Mexico; a brother, Carlos Beltran of Tularosa; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Elodia Beltran Soto; two grandchildren, Norma Beltran Soto and Arturo Beltran Soto Jr.; and a great-grandchild, Nicholas Smith.J.
