A talented musician, Joe dedicated much of his life to the art of music, accompanying Pascoala dancers and showcasing his skills on various instruments including the guitar, harmonica, violin, and accordion. His commitment to his craft was paralleled by his devotion to his community, where he worked diligently during feast days, always offering support to those around him.
Joe is survived by his wife, Mary Garcia, as well as two sons, Pancho and Ricardo Garcia. He also leaves behind four stepchildren and seven grandchildren. Joe was preceded in death by his parents and his children, Lorenzo and Bobby Joe Garcia, in addition to his siblings Martina, Frances Manuel, Ralph Garcia, and Madaline Thomas.
Services will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025, in Bapchule, district 5 from 6 to 10 p.m. A wake will follow from midnight to 5 a.m. at the Pisinemo Feast House, with burial to take place at Pisinemo Cemetery at 5:00 a.m, Tohono O'odham Nation.
