Born at Bastrop, Texas, he was a son of Apolonio and Asencion Torres. He moved to AZ in the 1940s and was a long-haul truck driver. He liked working on cars, going to Circle K on Jimmie Kerr Blvd. to get his newspaper. He also liked eating fish and chips in Casa Grande.
