SACATON - Lawrence Omer Whittaker, 51, of Sacaton died May 26, 2009. Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Wednesday at the District 3 Service Center. The funeral will be at 6 a.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church in Sacaton, with the Rev. John Jacobs Sr. officiating. Burial will be in East Sacaton Cemetery.Mr. Whittaker was born in Sacaton and was a son of Omer Whittaker and Louella Thomas. He was a volunteer with Gila River Fire Department and worked as a driver. He worked for Pimalco Inc. and Gila River Casinos. He enjoyed listening to his CDs, doing word puzzles and traveling.Survivors include a daughter, Jessica Lewis of Casa Blanca; four sisters, Marlene Baptisto of Sacaton, Eileen Harvey of Tempe, Elva Moore of Phoenix and Lucille Jones of Owyhee, Nev.; and three brothers, Marshall Moore of Philadelphia, Delbert Moore of San Carlos and James Moore of Boise, Idaho.J.
