She was a roadside development chair of Arizona Federation of Garden Clubs from 1961-65, organizer and President of the AZ Roadside Council. She received several state qawards for her achievements. She lectured for civic organizations on the environment, conservation, beautification and was very well-rounded in horticulture and landscape design. She also made quilts for each of her children and afghans for each of her grandchildren as well as 13 quilts for the homeless.
