Marlando Joseph Cruz, 57, passed away on August 15, 2026. Born April 9, 1969, Marlando will be remembered as a beloved son, father, brother, and grandfather whose presence and devotion meant the world to those who knew him best.
Family was at the center of Marlando’s life. His children were everything to him, and his love for them was steady and unmistakable. He also carried a lifelong enthusiasm for football—both as a fan and as a player. In high school, he played the game himself, and in later years he followed it with pride, cheering especially for the Washington Redskins and the Wild Cats.
Marlando is survived by his mother, Bernice Harvey; his children, Sabrina and Marcus Cruz; his two brothers, Brandon and Nicholas Cruz; and one grandchild. He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Matthew Cruz, and one sister, Derena Cruz.
Services will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at the Cruz Family Residence in Covered Wells, Arizona at 6:00 p.m.
The burial will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at 5:00 a.m. in Covered Wells Cemetery, Tohono O'odham Nation.
