Michaelene Sam, 37, passed away on March 6, 2026. Born on November 16, 1988, Michaelene will be remembered as a kind-hearted person, she touched many lives, she was truly one in a million with her uniqueness that filled our hearts with lots of love, She will be missed by so many.
Michaelene loved spending time with her nieces and nephews, and she found joy in dancing to Waila music. She was one of the dancers for the O’odham Waila project that was organized by the late Sandra Ortega, she had a passion for dancing.
Michaelene is survived by her parents, Ricardo & Michelle Havier, Monica & Johnny Sam Jr, aunts Dara, Noreen and Loretta Ortega; uncles Philbert and Francisco Ortega Jr.; many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Jose and Delphine Ortega; aunt Sandra Ortega; and uncles Sherwin and Patrick Ortega.
Services will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Saint Josephs Church in S-tuh Bidag. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at S-tuh Bidag Cemetery at 3:00 p.m.
