Rafael R. Gomez 91, died September 18, 2020 at his home in Casa Grande, AZ. He was bornto Pedro and Laura Elena Gomez on April 12, 1929 in Mexico. Rafael led a very full andinteresting life accomplishing many things. He earned a Master’s in Education by age 15. Helater studied at University of Arizona. Rafael managed several radio stations. At one point,Rafael was the personal Pilot for Barry Goldwater. He also served as the President for theMexican Chamber of Commerce in Phoenix. His love for music was only surpassed by hispassion for his family. He enjoyed telling stories and singing funny songs for everyone in thefamily and gave everyone a nickname. All who knew him knew him as "TATA". Rafael issurvived by his Daughter Marisela Valenzuela (Jose Valenzuela),Son Rafael A. Gomez,(Barbara Gomez),his Son Carlos C. Gomez, his Grandchildren that he raised YvetteArellano(Sam Arellano), Karina Alapizco, Cristina Alapizco and Mario Gomez, 13 otherGrandchildren, 31 Great Grandchildren and 7 Great Great Grandchildren. He was preceded indeath by his Wife Mary Jane Gomez, his daughter Laura Gomez, his son Ernesto Gomez,5Siblings, his Grandson Alfonso Alejandro Gomez, his Granddaughter Briana Eliza Gomez hisGreat Grandson Ezequiel Benavidez and his parents.Please contact family for service time andday.
