ELOY - Ramiro H. Guanajuato, 77, of Eloy died at home on Aug. 3, 2018.Mr. Guanajuato was born on Jan. 26, 1941, in Gregory, Texas, and was a son of Jesus and Delfina Guanajuato. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, a specialist 4, received the National Defense Service Medal and qualified as expert with the M14 rifle. He received an Associate of Arts degree and worked in the aerospace industry before retirement.He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was an avid shopper and enjoyed watching the Arizona Cardinals. He was very well known in the community and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Eloy Veterans Center.Survivors include his wife, Mary C.; a son, David Guanajuato of Eloy; three daughters, Ruby McRae, Rosamaria Velazquez and Sylvia Rodriguez, all of Eloy; three brothers, Juan, Richard and Juventino Guanajuato, all of Eloy; two sisters, Esperanza Salazar and Olivia Mendivil of Eloy; 20 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jesus Guanajuato, and a sister, Josie Diaz.Funeral Mass celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 10, at St. Helen of the Cross Catholic Church.
