Born on November 14, 1950, and raised in Baltimore, Ellen was the daughter of James Gibbons Stromberg and Mary Amanda Smart. She attended St. Jerome’s Monastery School and later graduated from Western High School in 1968, marking an early foundation of diligence and steady purpose that would continue throughout her life.
Ellen built her career as a legal secretary, a role that reflected her dependable nature, careful attention to detail, and commitment to supporting others with quiet professionalism.
Ellen was a truly selfless woman whose life was defined by love, generosity, and devotion to her family. She shared 54 wonderful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Arthur Barrick, building a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unwavering love.
She had a special gift for sewing and crafts, creating beautiful handmade treasures that reflected her creativity and caring heart. She also loved baking cookies and sharing them with her family, filling her home with warmth, comfort, and happiness. Many of the family’s most treasured traditions were created and lovingly carried on by her, bringing everyone together through holidays, celebrations, and cherished time spent with family.
Above all, Ellen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who always put others before herself. Her kindness, gentle spirit, and quiet strength touched everyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her brothers James G. Stromberg and Thomas Charles Stromberg. She is survived by her loving husband, Arthur Barrick; her daughter, Lisa Davison (Rick Cimini); her son, Scott Barrick (Lisa); her cherished grandchildren, Timmy, Tori, Scotty, Brandon, Zackary, JD, and Payton; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Zayden, Paxton, Kennedy, and Jeremiah.
