Gloria Patricia Holland

Pat was born on April 9, 1932 in Baltimore, Maryland. She was raised in Providence, Rhode Island where she spent many summers at Scarborough and Sand Hill Cove beaches. After Pat graduated from St. Xavier High School in 1949, she went on to study at Towson State Teachers’ College (now Towson University) in Towson, Maryland.

Immediately after graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Education in 1953, Pat married the love of her life, Robert R. (Bob) Holland, Sr, (64 years) and went on to raise 5 children in Catonsville, Maryland. She was a stay at home mom, volunteer, substitute teacher, and often helped out in the family business, Holland Manufacturing Company. Pat enjoyed cooking and entertaining, playing bridge and golf at Rolling Road Country Club, and she was a voracious reader and crossword puzzler. She was a resident of the Charlestown Retirement Community in Catonsville from 2002 until her death.

Pat was predeceased by her parents, Theresa and Arthur Hoglund; her brother, Arthur Hoglund; her husband, Robert R. (Bob) Holland, Sr.; a daughter, Theresa E. (Terry) Holland; and a son, Robert R. (Randy) Holland, Jr.

She is survived by her remaining 3 children, Catherine E. Flynn (James); Stephen A. Holland (Carol Dougherty), Dorothy J. Simpson (Kevin), and a daughter in law, Kristina Holland. Pat was the beloved grandmother of 8 grandchildren, Kellee Kramer (Larry); Jaime Fahy (Jason); Jon Holland (Fatjona); Mallory Holland (Logan Federer); Nicole Keen (Lex); Ryan Holland (Nicole), Katie Simpson, and Elizabeth Simpson. In addition, she adored her 11 great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Sam Kramer; Quinlan and Campbell Fahy; Madelyn, Cana, Christian, Evie, Audax, and Noelle Keen; and Cameron Holland.

Family will receive friends from 10:30-11 AM on Saturday, May 24th at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, 711 Maiden Choice Lane, Catonsville, MD 21228. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
