Born on November 16, 1937, in Butzbach, Germany, Inge was the daughter of Wilhelm Fritz and Elsa Kubiar Fritz. She built a life centered on family, faith, service, and the simple acts of care that make a home and hold generations together.
Inge was the beloved wife of the late Peter Bliven Bellone, who passed away on August 30, 2006. As part of a military family, Inge and Peter moved frequently during their early years together before eventually settling in Abingdon, Maryland. In retirement, they made their home in Moss Point, Mississippi. Inge later lived in Catonsville, Maryland.
Throughout her life, Inge treasured her roles as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She took great pride in her family and found deep happiness in watching it grow across generations and across great distances. She expressed her love through her presence, her care, and the many things she did for those around her.
Inge enjoyed sewing, gardening, traveling, and participating in the life of her church. During the 1970s, she worked with children at the daycare center at Presbury United Methodist Church in Edgewood, Maryland. She also devoted more than 20 years to volunteering with St. Vincent de Paul, quietly giving her time and energy in service to others. In more recent years, she especially cherished the faith and fellowship she found at One God One Thought Center for Better Living in Windsor Mill.
Inge is survived by her children, Michael Fritz and his wife, Petra, of Butzbach, Germany; Kathleen Bellone of Catonsville, Maryland, and Joseph Johnson, also of Catonsville; Peter B. Bellone and his wife, Mary Fear Bellone, of White Marsh, Maryland; Martin A. Bellone of Palestine, Texas; Aileen D. Hooper and her husband, John, of Forest Hill, Maryland; and Patricia A. Cantler and her husband, Chris, of Abingdon, Maryland.
She is also survived by her twin sister, Giesla Goff (née Fritz) of Moss Point, Mississippi.
Inge’s grandchildren are Jonas, Melania, and Navina Fritz; Alexandra and Lydia; Mary, Stephanie, Nicholas, and Kyle Bellone; Martin and Candace Bellone; Jason and Brandon Hooper; and Jessica, Sara, and Samuel Cantler. She also leaves a loving legacy through her 15 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Inge was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Vicki L. Bellone (née Graybeal), wife of Martin.
A memorial service celebrating Inge’s life will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. at One God One Thought Center for Better Living, 3605 Coronado Road, Windsor Mill, Maryland. A repast will follow the service.
Arrangements are being handled by Sterling-Ashton-Schwab-Witzke Funeral Home of Catonsville, Inc.
Inge will be cremated in Maryland. At a later date, her daughters Kathy and Trish will accompany her remains to Mississippi, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Peter.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites memorial contributions to the Maryland SPCA or the Light of Truth Center, Inc.
Inge’s life was measured not simply by the years she lived, but by the family she nurtured, the faith she practiced, the people she served, and the love she gave so freely. She was deeply loved, and her memory will remain present in the lives of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and the many people fortunate enough to have known her.
