Matthew Thomas Kenney, 24, a resident of West Friendship, Maryland, died unexpectedly on July 4, 2015. The son of: Deborah A. Christino (Brodeur) of West Friendship, MD and Edward P. Kenney of Braintree, MA; step-father, Mario A. Christino; brother, Patrick J. Kenney of Silver Spring, MD; step-sister, Amber Christino of Paris, France and step-brother, Nicholas Christino of West Friendship, MD. Maternal grandparents, Ronald E. Brodeur Sr. and Lois Brodeur of Waterbury CT and paternal grandparents, the late Edward F. Kenney and Anna Kenney of Braintree, MA; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Matthew was born in Canton, Massachusetts on August 24, 1990. He moved to Maryland with his family in 2001. He graduated from Marriott’s Ridge High School; he spent time as an electrical apprentice and loved working around automobiles. Matthew was an adventurous soul and loved his family times vacationing on Cape Cod. Helping to bring joy to others seemed so natural to Matthew. A footloose wanderer by nature, he seemed a natural with the outdoors where Matthew loved to spend his free time, always looking for an opportunity to go hiking and camping, fishing, or downhill skiing. Fiercely passionate about all automobiles, he was especially fond of off-road vehicles, especially his Jeep.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all that knew him.
Visitation hours to celebrate Matthew’s life and his time with family and friends is scheduled for Thursday, July 9, 2015 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM at the Sterling-Ashton-Schwab-Witzke Funeral Home, located at 1630 Edmondson Avenue in Catonsville, MD.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to St. Joseph Institute, 134 Jacobs Way, Port Matilda, PA 16870, in Matthew’s name.
