Bob was a hardworking, independent man with a wide range of interests, a remarkable breadth of knowledge, and an opinion on just about everything. As an ASE Master Certified Technician, he took pride in specialized work on Porsche and Audi vehicles. Later in life, he developed a passion for high-performance sports cars, frequently enjoying joyrides in his Maserati GTS-F1.
Bob enjoyed history, collecting antiques, fishing, hunting, and exploring the outdoors. Above all, he loved sharing his knowledge with his sons. He often said that teaching them was the most fun he ever had. Whether working on cars, boating, exploring museums, or searching for fossils along Calvert Cliffs, he instilled in them curiosity, independence, and self-reliance.
Bob especially cherished the time he spent with his young granddaughter, Vianna, and eagerly looked forward to welcoming another grandchild, Kylah. Above all, his greatest legacy is his family, especially his two sons.
Bob is survived by his wife of 46 years, Patricia Schumann; his sons, Robert Schumann III (Raluca) and Kyle Schumann (Hannah); and his granddaughter, Vianna Schumann. He is also survived by his brothers, John Schuman (Denise) and Albert Schuman (Kathleen), along with nieces, a nephew, and others dear to him. He was preceded in death by his brother, Steven Schumann.
