Charlotte Geoly

March 6, 1938August 30, 2020

On August 30, 2020, we lost a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend due to complications of heart disease. Charlotte Geoly was 82.

Charlotte, a New Jersey native, was born and spent her formative years in Belmar and raised her family in Lincroft. She worked as a church organist and choir director and as a bookkeeper at Eaves Brooks Costume Company in New York City. In her spare time, Charlotte enjoyed needlepoint and ceramics and was an excellent cook. In retirement, she and her husband Guy traveled extensively throughout the world.

Most of all, Charlotte loved spending time with her family. In 1998, Charlotte and Guy moved to Colorado to be closer to her children and grandchildren. She was a dedicated mother and treasured her children and cherished her time with them. She especially loved her role as grandma. Charlotte made friends everywhere she went and was a dedicated, life-long friend to many.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 58 years Guy Geoly. She is survived by her children Paul Geoly and his wife Marisa, Pete Geoly and his wife Kristin, and Jean Geoly Armstrong and her husband Hugh and her grandchildren, Katie Armstrong, Alison Armstrong, Mia Geoly, Nik Geoly, and Maria Geoly.

Always an active member of her church and community, Charlotte was a strong supporter of the mission of Escuela de Guadalupe, a Pre-K-8 school in Denver dedicated to offering an education that integrates Spanish and English bi-literacy while being financially accessible to all. Thank you for allowing me to view via Zoom Charlotte's memorial. I am a neighbor to Charlotte and really have no one memory. I have so many from the numerous chats and visit we had while she lived here. Charlotte was a very special, warm lady, who was so easy and enjoyable to talk to, as was Guy. Living in a small tight-knit community, it is so comforting to have neighbors such as Charlotte. I will miss her very much, but have many warm memories of our chats together. She was very rare indeed. My deepest sympathy and prayers to the family.

I am fortunate to have known and loved Charlotte and Guy.
Our first meeting occurred when they walked into Verona to look at model homes. I worked there and was overjoyed when they made their decision to call Verona home.

I count myself fortunate to have known and learned from Charlotte. She taught my example- a genuine lady and cherished friend. I smile as I recall time spent with her, no matter what the occasion.

God bless you and keep you dear one.

Jean, Pete and Paul,
I am so very sorry for your loss. Your mother was such a special person. From the first moment that we met, she was so warm and welcoming, I felt like I had known her forever. We remained fast friends from that point on. What a source of love, fun and friendship she has been. I know she will be tremendously missed.
Mark and I have you all in our thoughts and prayers.

I loved Charlotte so. Her memory will be with me always. She brightened my days with her kindness and compassion. Charlotte loved her friends and family deeply and was always happy to share their highs and lows. Her mark on the world was profound and her loss is immense. From a quick phone call to a special card stitched in her own hand, she was always there to show how much she loved you. The heavens are brighter with her passing. Rest In Peace dear soul.

Paul, Pete and Jean, I was saddened to hear of your mother’s passing. The world was better with her in it. She played a second mother role in my life. Through the years I had the pleasure of staying connected with her through email. Sharing our joys with each other was fun! I will miss her wisdom the most. I’ll imagine a choir of angels singing while she plays the organ.

We were so sad to hear that Charlotte passed. She was such a sweet and giving person. We always had such good time at her home when she and Guy would host our block potlucks. She never failed to have a positive attitude even when times were tough. Our prayers are with her children and grandchildren. We will miss her.
