It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Agnes 'Anne' Lanell McCormick, who left this world peacefully on December 20, 2025, in Centralia, Washington. Born on October 9, 1933, in Ruston, Louisiana, Anne was the cherished daughter of Jack and Lily (Love) Bratton. She lived a life that embodied love, devotion, and selflessness, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Anne graduated from Alameda High School in Alameda, California, and soon after, she embarked on a journey that would see her touch countless lives. On May 22, 1954, she married the love of her life, Alan Neal McCormick, in Reno, Nevada. Together, they built a foundation of love and faith that would guide their family through the decades.
For more than 20 years, Anne dedicated herself to her work as a claims processor with State Farm Insurance, where her attention to detail and compassion for others shone brightly. However, it was not her profession that defined her, but rather her unwavering devotion to her family and community.
Anne's life was marked by profound love and sacrifice. After her husband, Al, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in the 1970s, she embraced her role as his caregiver with grace and tenderness, providing him with unwavering support until his passing in 1998. Her spirit of service extended beyond her home; she was a beacon of hope and assistance for those in her church community and beyond, offering both financial and prayerful support to those in need.
Anne's compassionate heart was further exemplified when she took her sister into her home, caring for her for seven years. Even as her son Martin faced his own struggles, Anne continued to be his guiding light, helping him until his untimely death in 2020.
Throughout her life, Anne was deeply devoted to her faith, finding strength in prayer and the study of the Bible. Her commitment to spiritual growth and community service was unfaltering. Just before she passed, she took the time to express her gratitude in a heartfelt note, thanking the numerous caregivers at Assured Hospice and Sharon Care for the loving care she received. She recognized the blessings in her life and thanked God for them.
Anne is preceded in death by her beloved son, Martin; her devoted husband, Al; and her siblings Lonnie, Avis, and Jean. She is survived by her son Michael (LeAnn), grandsons Anthony Carlson (Melisa) and Matthew McCormick (Andrea), and her great-grandchildren Christian Carlson and Jacqueline Carlson, who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
A celebration of Anne’s extraordinary life will be held on November 1, 2025, at 2:00 PM at New Beginnings Church in Salkum, Washington. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring a woman whose life was a testament to love, faith, and unwavering kindness.
As we remember Agnes 'Anne' Lanell McCormick, let us carry forward her legacy of compassion and generosity, ensuring that her spirit of giving continues to inspire us all.
