Carol "Bushy" May (Boucher) Hurtado

Carol May Hurtado of Chehalis, Wash., passed away at the University of Washington Medical Center, Seattle Wash., Friday, March 2, 2018, with her husband and son by her side. She was born May 30, 1943, in Manchester, N.H., to Dorothy M. and Arthur N. Boucher. Carol and her family relocated to San Gabriel, Calif., as a child, where she attended school and later met her husband, while working at a lighting fixture manufacturer, Desoto, in Los Angeles, Calif. She married Aly S. Hurtado in 1966, and was blessed with a son, Alan B. Hurtado. She relocated to Washington in 1972, where she shortly thereafter helped her husband start Ethel TV Service in Ethel, Wash., on her brother, Bruce Boucher’s dairy farm, until he relocated to Chino, Calif. They moved their home and business to Chehalis in 1978, where she had lived since. Carol enjoyed many types of crafts including, crocheting, cross stitch and ceramics. She was a partner in Ceramic Fantasy and later, owned Carol’s Corner Ceramics. Carol also worked at David’s Home Furnishings, as the service coordinator from the mid-1990s to 2009. Although semi-retired, Carol remained active helping her son at Northwest Party Outlet and later, Party Connexion in Chehalis. She enjoyed staying active and working with people. Carol was always willing to give a hand where needed. She also enjoyed the coast and traveling whenever possible. Carol was greatly loved by many and will be missed dearly by friends and family. She will be remembered for her unfailing love for her family and friends, her patience and strength, her service to others and her faith in Jesus Christ, as her Lord and Savior. Carol was preceded in death by her only brother, Bruce Boucher of Chino, Calif.; and her parents, Dorothy M. Boucher and Arthur N. Boucher of Washington. She is survived by her husband, Aly S. Hurtado of Chehalis, Wash.; son, Alan B. Hurtado of Centralia, Wash.; sister-in-law, Aurora Witham of Los Angeles, Calif.; as well as many nieces, nephews and close friends. A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Open Bible Church, 902 Alder St., Centralia WA 98531, followed by light refreshments.
