Dalene Janice Russell Pollman passed away on Oct. 4, 2018, suddenly and unexpectedly. Dalene was born on February 20, 1955 in The Dalles, Ore. to Dale and Evelyn Russell. She leaves behind a multitude of close friends and family including her brothers, Dan and Steve (Cindy) Russell.
Her great loves in life were her husband, John Pollman, and their son, Anders Pollman, of Randle and Morton, respectively. She met John in Portland, Ore. at Multnomah School of the Bible in 1973. They were married in January of 1976 in The Dalles, Ore. In October of 1982, the biggest blessing of their life came in the form of their son, Anders. The next great blessing came when Anders married Kacey Augur Pollman and her grandson, Logan John Pollman, was born.
Dalene was a stay-at-home mother, who relished the task of taking care of her husband and son. She felt this was the highest calling of her life and not only was she exceptional at it, she truly enjoyed it. She would can from their garden and can beef, elk, deer, and salmon as well. Hospitality was one of the things that Dalene was most known for as she made her home most warm and inviting.
She enjoyed the four seasons of the year with fall her most favorite watching the leaves blow down from the alders and maples out of her garden window. She loved her church family and ministered to them through her afflictions from an accident when a tree fell across their vehicle in 2013. Although suffering from a broken neck and back, she realized through all of this that her God took great care of her. Even as these afflictions increased over the years, she still managed to keep a beautiful smile on her face and lived with amazing grace.
Although she was taken suddenly, she had prepared herself many years ago when she stepped into a relationship with Jesus, the lover of her soul. She met with Him daily as she read her Bible and studied His Word. From this grew a confidence that she knew that no matter what happened to her, her life was in His hands and she was taken care of.
There will be a celebration of life on Nov. 17 at 11a.m. at Reconciled Christian Fellowship located at 130 Morris Rd, Randle. This will be a potluck affair as this was one of the things she loved the most, getting together with family and church family to share a meal. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
