

Douglas was born on July 2, 1934, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He attended Concordia Lutheran High School in Portland, Oregon, and went on to build a life in the Chehalis community, rooted in hard work, dedication, and devotion to his family. On October 19, 1956, he married the love of his life, Dianne Lee (Grober) Fletcher, with whom he shared over six decades of marriage until her passing in 2022.
In February 1957, Douglas was drafted into the United States Army. He completed basic training at Fort Ord, California, and was later stationed at Hanford, Washington, and Fort Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska.
Douglas was known for his steady presence, strong work ethic, and deep commitment to those he loved. He dedicated 44 years of service to National Frozen Foods, where he was respected for his reliability and dedication. He took great pride in providing for his family and found joy in the simple pleasures of tinkering on tractors and wood whittling.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dianne Lee (Grober) Fletcher, and his parents, Lucy Bates and Edward Fletcher.
Douglas is survived by his sister, Dorothy Willson; his son, Mark Fletcher (Wanda); his daughter, Marge Moen; his niece, Christine; his nephew, Sean; his grandchildren, Mindy Sievert (Phil), Brandy McNeill (Justin), Douglas Fletcher (Beth), Jeff Moen (Nicole), and Tyler Moen; his great-grandchildren, Ryan (Shasta), Reese, Arean, Ayla, Robin, Lucy, Max, Sage, and Delilah; and his great-great-grandchild, Bronson.
A memorial service will be held at Sticklin-Brown Funeral Chapel in Centralia on Wednesday, April 29th, 2026. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. A procession to Claquato Cemetery for a graveside service will follow immediately after.
Douglas will be remembered for his constant strength, enduring love for his family, and the legacy he leaves behind through generations.
