Gary had a beautiful singing voice and on those rare occasions when sitting around a fire while camping he would sing about ol Shep, bringing a tear to your eye or on a lighter note when he would start a rousing rendition of “there’s a hole in the bottom of the sea“ and always finished it by singing there’s a hole in the bottom of Me.
He was and always will be a man’s man in my eyes. His sense of moral conviction, honesty, strength, honor and knowledge will be carried on by the thousands of lives he touched. These little pieces of what Gary represented will be passed on through us for generations to come.

Gary and I luckily survived many adventures over many years. Starting with Gary being my 8th grade teacher, high school coach for football, basketball and baseball. His guidance and leadership has been foremost in my mind over my adult life as an employee, business owner and husband. I consider myself to be a moral and ethical example for my grown children, and I credit Gary with instilling those values in me and can’t thank him enough. My heart hurts for Lola and the girls but please understand there is a lot of love out there for you and while you may not see or touch me I’m there and feeling what you feel. Gary was a member of our family and still is considered that and I look forward to seeing him down the road. Love all of you
