

H. Julene Fadness, age 83 of Centralia, Wash., died peacefully Monday, January 29, 2018. She was born January 31, 1934 to Clarence and Alice (Christianson) Williams in Dodge City Kansas. Julene moved with her family to Washington on Oct. 7, 1936. She was the 4th of 10 children.
Julene’s education extended through four years of college and she had a long and active working life. She began at age 14 picking berries. Being a lady of many abilities, she developed an extensive career. By age 16 she began as a waitress at Walt’s restaurant in Centralia. By age 28 she owned and operated the Colonial Inn restaurant located then at Hwy. 508. She was a gifted cook with a reputation for the best recipes. Much sought after, Julene’s employments included positions as cook for Maple Lane School, Lewis County Jail, Lee’s Café, The Oly Club and as manager of King Solomon Restaurant. Beyond this, Julene had also worked for Bank Check Supply and as a much loved Avon Lady earning top ranking among Avon Representatives in Washington. It was during her most recent work in adult caregiving that a stroke she suffered at age 76 finally forced her into retirement.
Julene will be remembered for her devotion to family and faith and as a woman of strong conviction, ever proud of her home and especially her grandchildren.
Julene was married to Le Roy Fadness. They were later divorced. Together they had 4 children.
She is survived by sons Steven (Rebecca), Allen (Lorrie), and Troy Fadness; and one daughter Kristi Fadness; grandchildren Jana, Jeff, and Sander Fadness, Jaqueline (Tyler) Lund, Amanda and Ellie Nieland; step grandchildren David, Susan, and Steven Ward; Sisters Barbara J. Smith, Grayse M. Provoe, Davene V. Walliman and Agnes M. “Aggie” Tapper.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Leroy A., Clarence E. “Eddie”, and David L. Williams; and sisters Peggy C. Morris and Mary M. Fisher.
Visitation may be made between Noon and 5:00 PM, Friday, February 2 at Sticklin Funeral Chapel.
A graveside service at Claquato Cemetery for Julene Fadness is scheduled for 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 3rd.
A Celebration of Julene’s life is scheduled to begin also on Saturday, February 3rd at 1:00 pm, with Pastor Keith Hopkins presiding at Grace Foursquare Church, 3030 Borst Ave., Centralia. A potluck reception will follow the service at the church.
