Inge Blight, age 94, passed away peacefully in November 2025. She was born in May 1931 in Hillsboro, Oregon, to Carl and Elsbeth Ruestig. Inge grew up with her beloved siblings, Carl Ruestig Jr. and Joanne McGowen, and attended Battle Ground High School in Battle Ground, Washington.
On March 16, 1957, Inge married the love of her life, Kenneth Blight. Together they raised three children: Steve, Joe, and Terrie. Inge was a devoted wife and mother whose strength, warmth, and generosity shaped the heart of her family.
Inge worked for many years at Winslow Grocery Store as a baker, where her passion for creating delicious treats was shared with her community. Outside of work, she found joy in gardening, baking for family and friends, solving word puzzles, and watching sports—especially football, baseball, and horse racing. Her sense of adventure took her to Germany, Budapest, Arizona, Hawaii, Alaska, and across the United States, creating memories she cherished deeply.
She is preceded in death by her father Carl, mother Elsbeth, husband Kenneth, and son Steven. Inge is survived by her son Joe and his wife Dawn; her daughter Terrie and her husband Robert; her brother Carl; her sister Joanne; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She will be remembered as a kind and giving mother, grandmother, sister, and best friend—someone whose warmth and generosity touched all who knew her.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Heart of Gold and Morton Loving Care for the exceptional compassion and support they provided.
A celebration of Inge’s life will be held on December 13, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Morton Senior Center, 103 Westlake Ave, Morton, WA. All who knew and loved Inge are welcome to attend and honor her memory.
