Jeffrey Martin

We are saddened to share the passing of Jeffrey Martin, known as Stubbs, who left this world at the age of 58, on September 23, 2023. His life was cut short due to a heart ailment. Jeff was not just a sweet person, but an individual whose presence touched the lives of everyone that knew him. He was a caring soul with a heart of gold.

Jeff was born on June 10, 1965 in Oroville, California to Mr. and Mrs. Martin. A unique twist of fate united Jeff with his mother. She passed away one day before Jeff’s birthday, and he followed her in passing one day before the day she was born. Their connection, even in death, speaks to the bond they shared.

Jeff graduated from Shelton High School, Class of 1984, where he met Leslie. The two of them have resided in Morton together for the past 6 years, sharing life and everything that came their way.

He had a passion for music and touched hearts through melodies. Jeff found joy in camping, rock hounding, fishing, the simple pleasure of barbecuing, quality time with his fiancé, and a good trip to the beach. These simple things, they were things that made his life richer and more vibrant.

In his professional life, Jeff dedicated 12 years to the Salvation Army in Olympia, where his sweet nature was able to shine in all he did. He worked in kindness and compassion daily, leaving us this legacy to follow as his last item of business.

Jeff is survived by his sister, Tammy; brother, Curtis; adopted son, Elijah; his cherished fiancée, Leslie; and many more who were fortunate to be a part of his life’s journey. Jeff's kindness and generosity knew no bounds.

A potluck-style Celebration of Life will take place at 2:00pm on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at the Glenoma Fire Hall. This will be a time to celebrate the beautiful soul that was Jeff, share memories, and take comfort in each other's company.

Jeff's absence is deeply felt, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who cherish him. Let us bring his legacy of kindness and warmth to the table; he will continue to inspire us all.
