Jimmie Lee Howell passed away July 14, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Tacoma, WA. He was surrounded by his loving family during his last days. Jimmie was born to Harold and Barbara Howell in Sioux City, Iowa on January 18, 1939. He grew up in Iowa, and joined the Air Force at 17 years old. He retired as a Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force after 30 years of service. He served during the Vietnam War.
After Jimmie retired, he attended college for small engine repair. He worked as a school bus driver, and a truck driver. Jimmie loved hunting, fishing, driving, fixing engines, square dancing, volleyball, telling stories, and collecting junk.
Jimmie leaves behind his beloved wife, Jan, his children, Bob (Kristi) Howell, Jay (Tracy) Howell, Christy (Jeff) Gagne, Kathy Howell, 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, and nephews. He is also survived by his brothers, Dick (Bonnie) Dimmick, Jack (Georgia) Howell, Cleo Tippery, and his sister, Donna Ross.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Howell, and Barbara McAloon; his sons, Dannie Howell, and Donnie Howell.
The memorial services will be held at Centralia Christian Church on July 30, 2019 at 6:00 PM.
