Ken was born in Longview, Wash., June 15, 1954. He graduated from Kalama High School, in 1972. He went on to attend Lower Columbia College, where he continued to be active in drama and music, travelling throughout the Western States, with the choir, as a noted baritone vocalist. He earned an Associate degree in Arts and Sciences, in 1974. He then attended Northwest Bible College, where he continued his pursuits in drama and music, travelling with the Choralons throughout the Pacific Northwest. He graduated in 1976, with a Bachelor of Arts degree, in Biblical Literature and a minor in Sacred Music. He went on to earn a second BA, in Christian Education, in 1982. Ken had a life-long love for learning, so he continued his studies, at Seattle Pacific University, and was awarded with a Master of Arts, in Christian Education in 1987.
Ken had a deep faith and strong work ethic. He was privileged to have worked in a variety of fields, throughout his career. During the past nine years, he was employed in various Departments of the State of Washington, most recently at the Office of the Insurance Commissioner, in Tumwater.
Ken enjoyed restoring vintage furniture, working on upholstery projects with his wife, wood-working, studying history, trips to Long Beach, Wash., cooking delicious meals for his family, reaping the benefits of his garden, grilling on his Traeger BBQ, bird-watching, walking, hiking, fishing, playing with and reading to his grandchildren and singing silly songs to his loved ones, including his beloved Labrador Retriever, Belle.
Ken is predeceased by his parents, Hugo Aho and Marjorie Aho; brother, Robert Aho; and nephew Jeff Aho.
Ken is survived by Diane Aho, his loving wife of 40 years. They were married in Seattle, Wash., April 23, 1978. Ken is also lovingly remembered by his daughter, Emily Robinson (Christian Robinson); grandchildren, Eric Robinson, Christina Robinson, Daniel Robinson, and Lillian Robinson; sister, Kathleen Jasper (Dr. Tom Jasper,); nephew, Gregg Aho (Lauren Aho); and many close friends, to numerous to mention.
A Celebration of Life will be held at New Beginnings Church, 603 NW St. Helens Ave., Chehalis, WA 98532, Saturday, June 9, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. A potluck reception will follow the service, at 2428 W. Reynolds Ave., Centralia, Wash.
