Leslie Varga, age 86, of Chehalis, Washington passed away at home on Saturday, January 29, 2022. Leslie was born September 10, 1935 to Mary and Joseph Varga in Szany, Hungary. In 1956, he moved to the United States and met Theresa Breznai and on May 15, 1958 they married. Leslie was a disciplined man who liked to keep the house warm. He could be found chopping wood and putting around his five acre home. As a traditional Hungarian, Leslie learned to make wine at 16 years old. Honing in on his craft, he would often visit Eastern Washington to pick local grapes.
Leslie is survived by his wife, Theresa Breznai Varga; his daughters, Melinda Thorp and Vicki Acker; his grandchildren, Tyler and Kelsey Thorp, Joseph and Kristin Acker and Ashley and Anthony Varga.
Leslie was preceded in death by his son, Leslie E. Varga and his daughter, Christine Varga; his father, Joseph Varga and his mother, Mary Varga; as well as his five siblings.
Viewing will be on February 9, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at Sticklin Funeral Chapel, Centralia. A Rosary will be held on February 9, 2022 at 6:00 p.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Chehalis. The following day, February 10, 2022 a Service will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Chehalis. Burial to follow at Claquato Cemetery.
