Linda Jean Capps

Linda Jean Capps, 81, was born August 23, 1944, in Olympia, Washington, and died June 19, 2026. A longtime resident of Pe Ell, Washington, Linda’s life was marked by steadfast devotion to those she loved and a thoughtful, loyal presence that brought comfort and trust to family and friends alike.

Born Linda Jean Hensley to Dallas and Wanda (Sienko) Hensley, Linda was the first born of four children. Growing up, Linda’s family moved several times, yet she held particular affection for Astoria and Seaside Oregon before the family ultimately settled in Pe Ell during her sophomore year of high school. From that point forward, Pe Ell became her forever home. She was a cherished and beloved friend—someone whose discretion reflected deep respect for others. If something was shared with her in confidence, it stayed with her.

Linda married William Dennis (Denny Capps) in 1962, and together they had two wonderful daughters, Caryn and Jennifer. Linda was a devoted stay-at-home mom when her daughters were young, and her steady support was evident in the way she never missed an activity they were involved in. She especially enjoyed taking her daughters on Discovery Tours, creating meaningful time together through experiences such as Crystal Mountain, The Lion King, Jersey Boys, whale watching, Leavenworth at Christmas, and Cirque de Soleil.

In her personal time, Linda found enjoyment in simple, familiar pleasures—walking in her yard, bowling, and serving on a jury. After retirement, she continued to value connection and community, spending time playing cards at the Pe Ell Senior Center and warmly hosting Pinochle parties at her home.

Linda also gave generously of herself through service. She was a Girl Scouts leader, volunteered at school during eye and ear testing days, and volunteered at the Pe Ell Food Bank for several years—quietly and faithfully contributing to the well-being of her community. Linda's care for her community can be seen through her work, as she was the Pe Ell Deputy City Clerk, worked for the Washington State Employment Security Department, the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services, and retired as a Financial Services Specialist.

Linda is survived by her daughters Caryn (Rob) Foley and Jennifer Capps; grandsons Matthew (Kindra) Foley and Brady (Kim) Foley; great-grandchildren Lizzi, Charlie, and Camden; siblings Pat Taylor, Dallas Hensley, and Brad Hensley; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents Dallas and Wanda; brother-in-law Michael 'Mickey' Taylor; sister-in-law Deanne Hensley; and niece Melissa Taylor.

The family would like to thank Chehalis West Assisted Living, Sharon Care Center, and Assured Hospice for all the care and compassion shown to mom in her last months. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Pe Ell Food Bank at any Gesa Credit Union location.

Her family meant everything to her and she will be forever missed. Love you, mom.
