

Loretta Joanne Manning, 78, of Winlock, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014 with her children at her bedside. Loretta received wonderful care from the girls at Logan Street Manor, Centralia, where she resided the last five months of her life.
Loretta was born to Vincent and Marcella (Albert) Murray in Seattle, Washington on Jan. 26, 1936. Growing up, Loretta enjoyed playing sports, such as baseball, bowling, skiing and even, ice skating. After she graduated from West Seattle High School, Loretta went onto University of Washington.
On Aug. 23, 1958, Loretta married the love of her life, Erwin Wayne Manning in Seattle, Washington. They brought three children into the world, a son, Mark and daughters, Susan and Brenda.
Loretta diligently worked for Weyerhaeuser and retired after 17 years. Loretta and Wayne did a great deal of traveling throughout their life together. She enjoyed gardening and was an avid Seahawks fan. Most importantly, she loved her family and was always thinking of others first. Her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren were the light of her life.
Loretta was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Wayne.
She is survived by her son, Mark (Maria) Manning of Winlock; daughters, Susan Magnuson (Paul) Scott of Chehalis and Brenda (Mike) Brown of Olympia; brothers, Roy Murray of Seattle, Washington and Jerry (Carol) Murray of Kent, Washington; nine wonderful grandchildren; and 10 amazing great- grandchildren. Loretta also had many beloved lifelong friends and family.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014 at Sticklin Funeral Chapel in Centralia. A reception will follow in the Sticklin hospitality room.
