Jim was born in Waynesville, North Carolina on March 30, 1949 to Martin and Elsie Whitson. After a life wondering across the country with many moves and new schools, his family finally settled in Dryad, Washington. After graduation from Pe Ell he found a job that let him be outdoors with Weyerhaeuser Co, where he retired after 40 long years. In 1976 he married Karen Thomas from Boistfort, and together they raised two wonderful children: son Jeramiah, and daughter Sara.
Jim is survived by his wife of almost 49 years Karen; son Jeramiah, and many extended and loving family members.
He is proceeded in death by his father Martin; mother Elsie; sister Kathy; and daughter Sarah; and his beloved Finn.
