

Naomi Hendrickson, 91, of Centralia, WA, died June 20, 2011, peacefully at home. She was born March 10, 1920, in Akron, OH, the daughter of Rev. Ernest and Irma Shaw. She was the oldest of three daughters. On June 24, 1938, after attending two years of college in Anderson, IN, Naomi married Robert W. Hendrickson of Peoria, IL. They moved from Illinois to California, and then to Napavine in 1977. They had two daughters, Carol Johnstone of Centralia and Karen Barton of Chehalis. She is survived by six grandchildren; Rick (Angie) Engle of Virginia, Rhonda Evans of Centralia, Cheryl Robinson of Centralia, Sharlene Arras of Napavine, Ryan (Erica) Engle of Chehalis, and Richelle Davis of Vancouver. There are 19 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her two sisters, Bernice and Lois; and two great-granddaughters.
She has been a dedicated member at Centralia Community Church of God, leading several Bible Studies, working in the daycare, and acting as church librarian. "Grandma" will be missed by many generations of children who have grown up in the church, looking forward to her hugs and words of encouragement each Sunday.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Centralia Community Church of God Youth Group.
The family invites all who were touched by Naomi to her Celebration of Life Service at Centralia Community Church of God, 3320 Borst Ave, Centralia, WA on Friday, July 1 at 2 p.m. There will be a time of remembrance and fellowship following the service.
