

The Krause’s settled on a 60 acre farm on Cowlitz Prairie in Toledo, Washington. In the late 1930’s, Leonard’s family moved to Napavine, Washington, where Leonard graduated from High School in 1938.
Leonard was a veteran of WWII and served 17 years as a Navy Seabee in the United States Naval Construction Battalion. He was a carpenter for over 50 years in Washington and California, retiring in 2007. He then moved to Napavine, Washington.
At over 101 years old, Leonard still did his own yard work, participated in the 2021 Senior Olympics, and enjoyed watching golf and football, especially Seahawks games. Leonard was an avid bowler and during his lifetime, he participated in many amateur bowling competitions across the United States.
Leonard is survived by his brother, Ernest Krause of Lynwood, Washington; children, Cindy Rowe of Thurston County, Leonard Krause of Lewis County and Christie Krause of Los Angeles, California
He was preceded in death by his wife in 2009, Bettye Stonex Krause from Onalaska Washington.
A viewing will be held a Sticklin Funeral Chapel April 22, 2022 at 2 pm. A graveside service will military honors will be held on April 25, 2022 at 1pm.
