Richard Paul Busek

Dick graduated from Centralia High School in 1962 and attended Bates Technical School, becoming a diesel mechanic in 1963. He worked for Dulin Construction for 28 years, from 1973 until his retirement in 2001, as a diesel mechanic and truck driver. He was a proud and loyal member of the Teamsters Union and the Eagles.

Dick married Barbara (Gavin) Busek in 1971. He enjoyed antique cars and motorcycles and built a private museum in Galvin to house his lifelong collection. He loved opening the museum to clubs, organizations, and anyone interested, sharing the stories behind his many treasured vehicles.

During retirement, Dick enjoyed spending time at the cabin he built at Hood Canal, where he loved clamming, shrimping, crabbing, and shucking oysters while enjoying the beauty of the area.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents and three uncles. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; son Paul Busek and wife Jennifer (Knodel) Busek; daughter Mary Busek-Riley and husband Rodney Riley; his only grandchild, Megan Kellam; and many dear friends.

A celebration of Dick’s life will be held at a later date at his museum in Galvin, where family and friends will gather to share memories and celebrate his life and lifelong collection.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
