Dick is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lucille (Lucy), son Tom, and grandson Derek of Tulsa, Okla. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan (Sue) Marshall, mother, father and brother, John.
Dick, a veteran of World War II, retired from the Tulsa YMCA where he served as city wide YMCA Comptroller. His passion was raising orchids and at one point served as president of the Tulsa Orchid Society. He won countless blue ribbons in the state and regional orchid shows. He enjoyed sharing his orchids at his church every Sunday. He loved gardening, raising roses, various flowers and vegetables. He definitely had a green thumb that was admired by all.
A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held Sunday, May 20, 2012 at 2:00 p.m., at the United Methodist Church in Chehalis.
