Rosalie Kathryn “Rosie” Beeks (née Kaiser), age 92, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025, in Morton, Washington. A beloved sister, aunt, and friend, Rosie lived a life marked by kindness, resilience, and a deep appreciation for both adventure and community.
Born on May 8, 1933, in Silver Creek, Washington, Rosie grew up in the heart of Lewis County. She attended Mossyrock High School from 1948 to 1951, where she graduated as Valedictorian of her class. Her academic excellence was matched by her warm personality—school friends fondly remembered her as a “swell gal” and a truly sweet and kind person. Even before graduation, Rosie had already begun working at the County-City building in Chehalis as a clerk, eager to step into the world with enthusiasm and purpose.
After high school, Rosie continued her work in Chehalis before relocating to Grants Pass, Oregon. There she joined the Josephine County Sheriff’s Department as a female inmate transporter—a role that reflected both her sense of duty and quiet strength. In the early 1970s, she and her husband Gordon “Gordy” Beeks moved to Kenai, Alaska. Rosie took a position at the local post office before transitioning to the Alaska State Department of Transportation as a parts runner. She remained there until her retirement in 1987.
Rosie’s life was enriched by her love of dance and music. In her younger years, she delighted in attending community dances at town halls throughout Mossyrock, Toledo, and Chehalis. These lively gatherings were more than just social events—they were where lifelong friendships were formed and where she eventually met the love of her life, Gordy. The two shared 58 devoted years together.
A fan of polka music, Rosie often filled her home with cheerful tunes that brought joy to those around her. Later in life, she and Gordy embraced their adventurous spirits by taking to the road full-time in an RV following their retirement from Alaska in 1995. Their travels took them across North America and beyond—to New Zealand and Australia, Mexico, the Grand Canyon, and the Florida Everglades—creating cherished memories along the way.
Rosie was known for her bright smile, infectious laughter, and unwavering generosity. She carried herself with quiet grace and compassion that left lasting impressions on all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Gordon Beeks; her sisters Genevieve “Ginny” Davidson, Marlene Allen, and Helen Mullins; and her parents Walter and Rose Kaiser.
Rosie is survived by her brother Wayne Kaiser and his wife Sharon of Vancouver, Washington; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews who will continue to carry forward her memory with love.
In keeping with Rosie’s generous spirit, donations may be made in her honor to Pastor’s Pantry or the Morton Senior Center in Morton, Washington.
May Rosalie Kathryn “Rosie” Beeks be remembered for the joy she brought into the world and the gentle strength with which she lived her life. A Celebration of Life will be held on October 25, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 02:00 PM at Morton Senior Center 103 Westlake Ave,. Refreshments and light lunch provided.
