Rosalie was born on August 12, 1942, in Van Nuys, California to Theodore “Vic” Victorino and Myrtle (Fleming) Victorino. At the age of three, her family moved to Mossyrock, where she grew up and graduated from Mossyrock High School.
In 1961, Rosalie met the love of her life, Gerald Gleason. The two were married on January 6, 1962, beginning a devoted marriage that lasted 64 wonderful years. Together they built a life filled with love, family, and laughter while living in Mossyrock and Morton before settling in Centralia in 1967. After retirement, they made their home in Randle.
Rosalie dedicated 42 years of service to the Centralia School District as a school bus driver and monitor. She truly loved her work and especially cherished the special needs children she cared for throughout her career. Even after retirement, she returned part-time because of how deeply she loved the students and the friendships she built along the way.
Rosalie found joy in life’s simple pleasures and in the people she loved most. She was an avid fan of the Seattle Seahawks and Seattle Mariners and never missed cheering on her children and grandchildren at their sporting events. She enjoyed sewing, needlework, gardening, bird watching, camping with family, nightly games of Jeopardy!, and word searches. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family.
Rosalie is survived by her loving husband, Gerald Gleason; daughter Tina Gleason; son Gerry (Michelle) Gleason; brother Frank (Sheila) Victorino; grandchildren Alisha Perez and Ross (Ashley) Gleason; great-grandchildren Alana Perez, Anais Perez, Audrina Perez, Anayelee Perez, Riley Gleason, and Riggs Gleason; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore “Vic” Victorino and Myrtle Victorino.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers and staff at Providence Regional Cancer Center, Providence Centralia Hospital, Compassus Hospice, St. Joseph Medical Center, and Dr. Saffari and staff for the compassionate care they provided to Rosalie and her family.
Rosalie’s kindness, dedication, humor, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
There will be a Celebration of Life held at a later date.
In leu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made in her name to Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge.
