

He attended schools in Chehalis and Adna and graduated from Adna High School in 1941. He waited for his high school sweetheart, Verna Lee Chandler, to graduate from high school in 1942.
His first job out of high school was working at Boeing. A few months after he married Verna, he was drafted into the Army. He served three years, traveling with General MacArthur's Headquarters in the South Pacific, Philippines and Japan. After discharge from the army, he came home to start a family. He and Verna were blessed with three daughters and one son.
He worked at Boeing, Agnews mill in Chehalis, in Libby, Mont., at the asbestos mine, and Callisons Peppermint Plant in Chehalis. He retired in 1985.
He was a lifelong member of Christian churches in Chehalis and Centralia. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, playing cards and visiting friends and family.
He is survived by his wife, his daughter, Sheryl Meyer, his son, Stephen Ray (Doreen) North, sister, Vera Carlson, and sister, Shirley (Mike) Roberts. He has nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Linda Lee (Mike) West, daughter, Patricia Ann North, and sister, Dorothy Rosbach.
A memorial service will be held at the Centralia First Christian Church, Saturday July 7, 2012 at 1 p.m.
