Alexander Kennedy Haggard

Alexander Kennedy Haggard, 30, passed away on July 4, 2026. Born on July 8, 1995, he was formerly of Matthews, North Carolina, where he attended Butler High School and CPCC. Later, he resided in Midland, North Carolina.

Alex's life was marked by a generous heart and a steady willingness to give of himself. Those who knew him will remember not only his kindness, but also the persistence with which he met life—passionate and determined, and guided by genuine care for others.

He found fulfillment in the things that brought people together and made days so happy: disc golf, playing guitar, motorcycles, boating, and a deep enthusiasm for cars. In these interests, many saw the spirit that defined him—engaged, wholehearted, and present in the moments that mattered.

Alex was preceded by his grandparents, Edward Lorenz, Carolyn Mann Haggard, and Harold Haggard.

He is survived by his parents, Steve and Michele Haggard of Catawba, NC; his siblings, Jake Haggard of Charlotte, NC, and Sam Haggard of Huntersville, NC; his maternal grandmother, Gloria Lorenz of Indian Trail; and his paternal grandmother, Donna Haggard of Fort Mill, SC. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles: Debi and Tim Bateman of Charlotte, NC; David and Michelle Lorenz of Canton, GA; Eric and Pam Lorenz of Las Vegas, NV; Harold and Sarah Haggard of Denver, NC; Tom and Missy Haggard of Concord, NC and Sue Huff of Charlotte, NC. He will be remembered also by his many cherished cousins.

Family will receive friends at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Charlotte, NC 28227, on Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
