

Ana Alicia Castrillon, 94, of Charlotte, NC, went to be with our Heavenly Father on May 13, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 22, 1917 in Quito, Ecuador S.A., became a US Citizen in 1970, and has resided in Charlotte ever since. She loved gardening, cooking, and was a devoted mother and grandmother who was loved by all. Mrs. Castrillon was known to share her healing touch and compassion with all those whose lives she touched. As Matriarch of the Castrillon family, she raised three generations of children. She was a wonderful teacher of kindness, generosity and love.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Nicholas Castrillon, granddaughter, Rita Castrillon, and son, Nelson Castrillon.
She is survived by her son, Nelson’s widow, Hilda; grandchildren, Cecilia (Ron) Bailey and Maria Castrillon; son, Luis (Rosario) Castrillon; grandchildren, Sandra (Scott) Buff, Ana Maria (David) Staples, and Luis David Castrillon; son, Nicholas (Alicia) Castrillon; grandchildren, Nick Castrillon and Anthony Castrillon; daughter, Rosana (Galo) Castrillon de Yepez; grandchildren, Galo Ivan Yepez, Cesar Yepez, and Rosana Isabel Yepez of Quito, Ecaudor; daughter, Maria (Carlos) Davila, grandchildren, Jimena Chavez-Davila, Terri Chavez-Davila and Carlos (Veronica) Davila; son, Julio (Aida) Castrillon; grandchildren, Izel Castrillon and Pablo Castrillon; son, Michael (Liliana) Castrillon; and grandson, Michael Patrick Castrillon; son, Patrick Castrillon. She also leaves behind eleven great-grandchildren. Her memory will live on through the love of her family.
Visitation will be Monday, May 14, at 7pm at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 8451 Idlewild Road on Tuesday, May 15, at Noon, with Father Pat Hoare, celebrant. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. .
