Ana America Sosa Concepcion

Ana America Sosa Concepcion, 67, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones in Midland, North Carolina. Ana was born on November 24, 1954, in Isabela, Puerto Rico to Dionisio Sosa and Vicenta Concepcion. She grew up in a humble household filled with faith, love, and laughter.

As a young woman, Ana focused on general studies and the English language. She divided her time between school, work, and family. While attending school she became a Master Alteration Specialist certified in operating various textile machinery. She enjoyed coming home from work and spending time with her mother and siblings. Those quality moments she spent with them meant a great deal to her. She always valued spending quality time with loved ones, and this would hold true throughout her life.

Ana’s pride and joy was her family. She loved recounting stories of her youth and spending time with her husband, daughter, and grandchildren. She enjoyed sharing her faith and positivity and found joy in helping others. Her sense of humor and down to earth quality was one of a kind. She was a warrior in the face of adversity and her unwavering faith was her shield.

For family and friends that created lifetime memories with Ana over the years those moments will live on forever in your hearts and for all who were fortunate enough to have met her were given the gift of engaging with such a sweet soul.

Ana is predeceased by her father Dionisio, mother Vicenta, sister Luz Doris, brother Miguel, and brother Victor.

Ana is survived by her husband of 40 years, Jose Perez; her daughter, Annie Laborde; her grandsons, Adrian Laborde and Christopher Laborde; granddaughter, Isabel Laborde; sisters, Maria Sosa, Carmen Sosa, Margarita Sosa (Vives), and Nilsa Jimenez (Haddock); and brothers, Carlos Sosa, Roberto Sosa, and David Grafals; and her many nieces, nephews, and extended family whom she loved dearly.

Due to Covid restrictions, a Memorial Service will be determined for a later date.

Ana will be missed more than words can say.
