Anne Phifer Helms

She leaves behind a daughter, Suzanne Shaffer, spouse Rick Shaffer, and two grandchildren;

Niklki Shaffer and spouse Tim Hill, Brooke Shaffer and spouse Alex Harel. Her late daughter,

Kim Helms Wagstaff, spouse Chris Wagstaff and 2 grandchildren; Lucas and Elizabeth Wagstaff. Her parents were the late Allen H Phifer and the late Mary Kathryn Moore Phifer. Her siblings; the late Jerry A Phifer, spouse Carolyn Phifer, Ronnie Phifer, spouse Brenda Phifer,and Theresa Phifer Collins, spouse Gary M Collins.

Anne lived life on her terms and was a bit of a free spirit. She loved to travel, shop and had

a lifelong interest in minerals and gems. Anne was a 1958 graduate of Marshville High School and was a lifelong learner and avid reader. Her professional working life was spent in Hospital Human Resources, first at Union Memorial Hospital in Monroe, NC in the 70’s, then at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine, NC in the 80’s and finally at Emanuel Medical Center in Swainsboro, Ga. Her retirement years were spent as a caregiver aiding her daughter Kim with her grandchildren, Lucas and Elizabeth, and then caring for her father Allen until his death at 95.
