Annette Griffin Pigg (Nettie), born September 20, 1960, passed away September 12, 2026 surrounded by love after a courageous battle with liposarcoma. Throughout her cancer journey, Annette faced each day with unwavering faith, quiet strength, and remarkable grace.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 39 years, Lee; mother, Judy Griffin, brother, Richard Griffin; sister-in-law, Miriam Caraway; as well as her cherished nieces and nephew—Reagan, Macie, Maggie and Wriston. She was preceded in death by her father, Bobby. Annette is also lovingly remembered by a wide circle of treasured friends. Throughout her illness, they faithfully surrounded her with love, prayers, visits, phone calls, and countless acts of kindness and encouragement.
Raised in Mint Hill, Nettie attended local schools and graduated from Independence High School in 1978 and earned her Associate’s degree from Central Piedmont Community College in 1982. She enjoyed a successful 29-year career in the telecommunications industry, where her professionalism, dedication, and commitment to excellence earned her four President’s Awards. Her greatest joy was found in being “Aunt Nettie,” or “NaeNae”—a role she treasured above all others. As an aunt, she poured her time, heart, and love into her nieces and nephew, filling their lives with treasured memories and an enduring love.
Above all else, she was defined by her faith and by the way she loved—God first, then family and friends. Even in life’s most difficult moments, she sought to witness the gospel and inspire others to meet life’s hardships with courage, compassion, and a steady, trusting spirit.
