

Born in Austin, Texas, he was preceded in death by his father, Anthony Blake Leckie, Sr. and mother, Dorothy Robbins Leckie. He was also preceded in death by Debra Ann Herron, who he and Sheila were Guardians of for 13 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Sheila Alford Leckie.
Anthony was a devoted husband to Sheila for 18 years, always her "Gentle Giant".
After graduating from high school, Anthony attended Duke University for a while and then transferred to the University of North Carolina -Greensboro, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Art and a minor in German in 1976. After working for a while, he decided to move to Washington, D.C. to attend The Catholic University of America, where he graduated in 1985 with a Master of Fine Arts degree. After completing his education, he moved to Berlin, Germany and taught at a school there for a period of time, after which he returned to Greensboro and taught Art in the Guilford County School System for many years. In addition, he taught German part-time at a Community College. Anthony was a talented artist who was honored with awards by the High Point Museum of Art and Duke University. Other things he enjoyed throughout his life included traveling, being a camp counselor in the summer at a church camp in Hendersonville, NC, playing tennis, reading, watching Carolina Panthers football games, old movies and history programs and time spent with family, especially at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Family left to cherish his memory are sisters, Melody Elaine Leckie of Manteo, and Cherie Leckie Amos (Trip) of High Point; sister and brother- in- law, Tammy Alford Williams (Jim); nieces, Michelle Leckie Davies (Matt), Jillian Bray Williams, Beth McDade; great nieces, Eloise Blythe Davies and Penelope Rose Davies; and cherished friends for decades, Dr. Linda McElroy, Jeanne Davis and Uta Meyer Budzinski.
Anthony was a member of Abbotts Creek Missionary Baptist Church in High Point, N. C., where he and Sheila married. Anthony fought the good fight and finished the race, and he will always be remembered as a kind, loving, steadfast man.
