Arnold was born on January 13, 1935 to Martinus Arnoldus Bokhoven and Maartje Scheffers Bokhoven in Mahaska County, Iowa.
Arnold met Ruth Church at a jam session. They married on August 16, 1968.
Arnold spent most of his career in the automotive industry as a parts and supplies sales representative and retired from Hendrick City Chevrolet in Charlotte, NC.
Arnold was a member of the Philadelphia Presbyterian Church in Mint Hill, NC. He was an avid NASCAR fan, rooting for The Earnhardts- 8, 3, and 88. Arnold also enjoyed watching Tarheel basketball.
In addition to Ruth, his wife of 52 years, Arnold is survived by his children, Scott Arnold Bokhoven (Kathie), Pamela Gallaher Hughes (Gene), and Jeffrey Allen Gallaher. He had several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and all siblings.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 8, 2021, at 2:00 pm at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC. Visitation is prior to the service and will begin at 1:00 pm.
