

Lindsay Chambers was born on February 9, 1930 in Beth Shiloh, SC and grew up in the Rock Hill area. He moved to Charlotte in 1958 and then to North Myrtle Beach in 1993. Mr. Chambers passed away on October 1, 2015. The things he dearly loved were God, church, family – especially his wife of 60 years – golf , and tomatoes, not necessarily in that order. He was a man of integrity who worked hard to provide for his family.
He was predeceased by his wife Page, 5 siblings, and survived by his sister Dottie and husband Buck Beckham, son Art and wife Cindy, son Rob and wife Donna, grandchildren Scott, Melissa, Conor, Caylie, Maggie and husband Erik Blackwelder, and Nick, and great-grandchildren Alyssa, Caroline, and Ellen, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Lindsay worked at Moss Trucking Company over 30 years, and was a faithful and active Rotary Club member for over 30 years. A long time member at St. Thomas and King of Glory Lutheran churches, he served as treasurer, council member, and Sunday School teacher. He served briefly in the Army, and was discharged for medical reasons.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm Saturday, October 10 at Garden Memorial Church at 2324 Sam Wilson Road in Charlotte. Lunch and visitation will follow.
