On Saturday, June 1, 2024, Bernie, age 83, peacefully passed away into the arms of our Lord at his home. He was the beloved husband of Jeanie Weigold for 59 years and the son of the late Bernard and Irmalea Weigold. Known for his quick wit and endless jokes, he brought laughter to every room he entered.
Bernie touched many lives as the proud owner of Economy True Value Hardware for 23 years. He not only provided tools and supplies, but also built lasting friendships with customers, always ready with a helping hand and a joke to brighten their day.
His compassionate spirit extended into his work at Little Flower Assisted Living, where he fostered connections with residents and staff alike. His generosity knew no bounds, leaving a lasting mark on all who knew him.
As the eldest of 10 children, Bernie cherished his family dearly. His love was limitless, evident in his devotion to his wife Jeanie, his daughter Lisa, and his grandchildren Courtney and Nicholas.
One of his greatest joys was lending his voice to the Our Lady of the Assumption church choir for almost 50 years. His "Ave Maria" and "O Holy Night" were very special to him and all those who listened.
Bernie was the eldest brother of Richard Weigold (deceased), Robert (Bertha) Weigold, Virginia (Gregory) Gloss, Linda (Edward Jr.) Ryan, William (Maureen) Weigold, David (Judy) Weigold, Patricia Weigold, Dorothy Gaston (deceased) and Betsy McKinley (deceased).
He was the father of Lisa (Vincent) Prastaro, honorary father to Darren Bodenheimer, and grandfather of Courtney and Nicholas Bodenheimer.
