Bernice Thimesch Foote

She was 88 years old. Bernice was born November 11th, 1936 in Reno County, Kansas to the late John and Pauline Thimesch. To her family she was known as “Sis”. On September 3rd, 1960 she married Ted E. Foote who she loved dearly for 63 years until his passing April 8th 2024.

They moved from Kansas to North Carolina in 1973 where she spent most of her adult life as a homemaker. Her favorite activities were cooking in the kitchen or working in her garden. More importantly her family was what she cherished the most. She loved each member of her family unconditionally. Her gift of sarcasm and wittiness rubbed off on each of them in a way they will never forget.

She is survived by two children, Melynn Layton (John) and Michelle Whitley. Three Grandchildren, Buddy Layton (Kloi), Shelby Randall (Jordan) and Weston Whitley (Katie). Two Great Grandchildren, Levi Layton and Jr. Randall. Brothers, Daniel Thimesch (Pat), David Thimesch and Ron Thimesch (Randi)

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Pauline Thimesch. Brothers, Jim Thimesch (Marlene), Lawrence Thimesch (Theresa), Alvin Thimesch (Pat), Gerald Thimesch (Wanda), Wayne Thimesch (Carolyn) and Sister, Joyce Fairchild (Mike).

Ted and Bernice’s ashes will be buried near her family in Walnut Hill Cemetery, in Kingman, Kansas at a later date.
