Bertie Hager Shoe

Bertie was born on July 17, 1937, to Mary Hoglen and Hampton C. Hager, Sr. She grew up in Charlotte and attended Central High School. She was an accountant for several financial institutions before opening her own business, McMehan Tax Services, in the early seventies. Bertie was devoted to her family and friends. She was a member of the Daughters of the Nile and was active with her husband with the Shriners.

Bertie was predeceased by her parents and first husband, Robert W. McMehan.

She is survived by husband, Banner L. Shoe, Jr. of Waterloo, SC; daughter, Debbie and son-in-law, Ron Parker, of Kinston, NC; sister, Lois and husband, Frank Byrd, of Mauldin, SC; brother, Hampton and wife, Betty Hager, of Shelby, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 19, 2015, in the McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel. A visitation with the family will follow the service at McEwen-Mint Hill.
